Moving Into My New Apartment

After many months of planning and preparing, I’ve finally made the big move to Phoenix, Arizona! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to pursue a graduate degree in this amazing city. Now that I’m mostly settled into my apartment, I thought I’d share a few photos of my favorite little corners. Continue reading “Moving Into My New Apartment”

Furnishing Small Spaces on a Budget, an Ode to IKEA

I’m not sure if I’ve shared this on my blog yet, but I’m relocating to Arizona this August to begin my Master’s program at ASU. It’s all exciting, and truly overwhelming, so the past few weeks have been jam packed with the logistics of the move. Last month, I secured my actual apartment unit after a few months of deliberation. I chose to live alone in  a one-bedroom unit, so all of the furnishing and little necessities are my responsibility! The efforts we make for a little bit of privacy. Having just gone through the process of finding affordable but comfortable furnishing options, I thought I would share my experience, maybe providing some advice for anyone who may encounter a similar situation.

5 Habits for Cultivating Authenticity

Authenticity presents itself in the way we choose to dress, the way we respond to others, or the things we choose to pursue. It’s our way of making this life distinctly ours. Additionally, living authentically helps us feel more contented and happy! If you’re struggling with being authentic, try incorporating these habits into your daily life.

Coffee, Graffiti Walls, and Crepes|| This Weekend in Atlanta

If you followed my most recent post, you’ll know that I was visiting friends in Atlanta for the weekend. I’ve always lived within reasonable boundaries of the city, but really only visited the East Cobb, Buckhead, and Marietta areas, and the Masquerade for various reasons. With a little help from my friends, I ventured deeper into the city for a more authentic Atlanta experience. What did I discover? Plenty of great coffee, delicious food, and mural-wrapped buildings.  Continue reading “Coffee, Graffiti Walls, and Crepes|| This Weekend in Atlanta”

Beyond Beauty || Current Favorite TV Shows, Books, Blogs, Food, and Others

While makeup is awesome and skincare is addictive, beauty is not my life. It’s actually a very small part of how I spend my free time! As obsessed as you may be with Sephora or Ulta, I know you have a life outside of the makeup world. Without going so far as sharing social media diary entries about my personal life, I want to be authentic about what I post on my blog. I’ll still post plenty about makeup and beauty, but I want to start to share some other interests. I try to keep sight of life in its fullness, and that involves remaining at least an arm’s distance from superficialities. Without boring you (hopefully you’re still here…), here are some of my current favorites beyond the beauty bubble. New Music: March Discover Playlist

This year, I’ve been trying to expand my music library. I pretty much exclusively use Spotify Premium to stream new music because it’s convenient and cost-efficient, so I find myself discovering new music through the individualized weekly Discover Playlists. I thought I’d share some of my favorite music, both old favorites and newly discovered, so that you can discover new artists and push your boundaries. My taste in music is all over the place, but you can find a lot of alternative, dreamy, and cross-genre tunes in my library. This playlist includes a bit more indie and rock. Happy Listening!
