Eyebrows frame our faces. In fact, I dare to say that eyebrows have the transformative power to give our faces a new light. It’s quite fun to play with different eyebrow shapes and sizes, taking note of how each one changes our faces. I’ve been loving the big and bold look for my own eyebrows!
While makeup is awesome and skincare is addictive, beauty is not my life. It’s actually a very small part of how I spend my free time! As obsessed as you may be with Sephora or Ulta, I know you have a life outside of the makeup world. Without going so far as sharing social media diary entries about my personal life, I want to be authentic about what I post on my blog. I’ll still post plenty about makeup and beauty, but I want to start to share some other interests. I try to keep sight of life in its fullness, and that involves remaining at least an arm’s distance from superficialities. Without boring you (hopefully you’re still here…), here are some of my current favorites beyond the beauty bubble. Very rarely do I find myself purchasing a non-neutral palette. Bright colors and experimental looks are not part of my everyday makeup arsenal. For me to splurge on a fun playtime eyeshadow palette, it has to meet certain criteria. The color selection has to be cohesive, the shadow quality has to be top-notch, and the packaging has to be both functional and visually appealing. Enter the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne collab. I scored the Kaleidoscope Dreams eyeshadow palette and Beauty Beam highlighting palette for 50% off at my Sephora. After both watching Youtubers rave about the shadows and seeing beautiful swatches on all of my feeds, I decided that the collab lived up to my non-neutral palette standards.
Thanks to Influenster, I was able to get my hands on these products from the Sinful Colors x Vanessa Hudgens collaboration makeup line for free so I could test them out and give my honest thoughts! Check out the video below for some swatches and then make sure you read my thoughts on the products.
MAC comes out with so many amazing limited edition collections and collaborations. It’s hard to keep track of all of them, but every once in a while, the packaging or colorways really catch my eye. When the Fruity Juicy collection released last year, I was so intrigued by the colorful packaging and the special edition (now permanent) scented Fix +. You can imagine my excitement when I saw the Fruity Juicy Pearlmatte powder at my Cosmetics Company Store (discounted Estee Lauder brand makeup) for 30% off outlet price! I also picked up some other goodies, but I wanted to share this find because it’s just such a wonderful product. Continue reading “MAC Fruity Juicy Collection: Oh My, Passion Pearlmatte Powder”
So Rihanna has officially broken the internet– at least in the beauty world. Her newest line has just released after quiet hints and much suspense, and I have to say I am very intrigued. It may be a minimal line, but I think the products that she has developed are truly worth looking into. I definitely have a few things I want to try as soon as more reviews come out.
