I love wearing soft colors on my eyes. I think they make a really bold statement without being loud, difficult to create, or annoying to wear! Recently, pinks and purples have been taking residence on my eyelids. I have so many pretty pastel palettes that look great all over the lids for a simple wash of color, but my favorite has to be the Nars Narsissist Danger Control eyeshadow palette. These are really cool pastel holographic shadows, some being amazing duochromes and some having galaxy-inspired glitter glows. Here’s a look I created using some of the shadows in the palette along with some others!
Who would have ever believed that highlighting flaws, faking skin texture, and artificially mussing up brows would be a makeup trend? The “Boy Beat” has been going around Instagram and the beauty community for a few weeks now, so I thought I’d give it a shot myself.
I have a solid group of friends from college that I consider my best friends. If you have a friend group like this, you’ll know what I mean when I say that no one else stacks up to this collection of people. Rarely do I go out of my way to reunite with friends, but I’m so anxious (in the best way) about our upcoming trip to Atlanta. We’re quite spread out across the country so it’s a big deal to be able to meet in one place. Thinking about this trip to Atlanta made me think of that Outkast album ATLien and I decided to create a galaxy inspired makeup look. That, and there’s a song by one of my favorite bands that repeatedly asks, “What’s another night on Mars? With friends like ours anywhere is home” (Another Night On Mars, The Maine). This group of people is one that can make anywhere feel like home, even the barren and faraway surface of Mars.
