Moving Into My New Apartment

After many months of planning and preparing, I’ve finally made the big move to Phoenix, Arizona! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to pursue a graduate degree in this amazing city. Now that I’m mostly settled into my apartment, I thought I’d share a few photos of my favorite little corners.

The Living Room

If you’ll recall from my previous post on my IKEA shopping list, I wanted to choose items that were very soft and neutral as well as simple. I prefer my living spaces to be clutter-free, so you’ll notice that I opted to take the less-is-more route with furniture.

The living room is perhaps my favorite spot. I’m so happy I decided to get this pretty little tray table instead of a coffee table; it adds just enough character and makes the whole space look roomier.

I love the entire Opalhouse collection at Target; the pom-pom banner adds a whimsical bohemian touch to an otherwise plain space.

I haven’t decided if I want to add throw pillows to the couch. I kind of like it as is with a soft beige throw draped along the arm, but there are so many perfect pillows in the Opalhouse collection.

(All furniture, aside from the Opalhouse pom-pom banner, is linked in my previous post.)

The Bedroom

My bedroom is very small, and as of right now, extremely bare-boned. I really like it as it is and may add a couple of throw pillows, but for now it will do.

The bedframe and mattress are from IKEA. They were both extremely inexpensive and I will admit that they are quite comfortable! I used a sidetable as a nightstand, placing a cube storage box from Target underneath.

Don’t you love this washed-out blue duvet set from Opalhouse at Target? It’s exactly the soft and clean look that I have going on everywhere else in the apartment. I love that it’s solid colored, because I can accessorize with so many different pops of color and pattern if I decide to do so. The tassels give it that extra dose of character.

The Bathroom

I don’t have my entire bathroom set up the way I’d like it (my makeup collection is just kind of chilling in boxes), but here’s a peep into my medicine cabinet. See any favorites?

I’ll be sharing more photos as I settle in, but I was so excited to give you a glimpse into the little home that I’ve created!

I start classes in a few days so I will be spending a bit of time preparing for that. Wish me luck because I’m going to need it! Coming out of a gap year, I have a lot of rust to shake off.
