Too Faced Eyeshadow Palettes: Chocolate Gold

I went years without lifting a finger or even coming close to purchasing a Too Faced eyeshadow palette, but after snagging the original Chocolate Bar palette for $25 at Sephora it’s been all downhill. I love the quality and shade selection of Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar and scented palette collection. Ulta recently offered a 35% discount on a limited selection of Too Faced palettes, so of course I had to take advantage. I added the delicious and rich Chocolate Gold palette to my collection and couldn’t be happier.

Too Faced Chocolate Gold

Too Faced says…

Take decadence to the next level with a luxurious gold and cocoa powder-infused eye shadow palette that smells as good as it looks. Have a major metallic moment with foiled shadows that are created with real gold for an epic high-shine finish that’s paired with rich, seductive mattes for coffee to cocktails wear. All shadows feature a soft, velvety texture with full coverage payoff. The entire palette is infused with skin-loving cocoa powder for a decadent chocolate scent.

I have to say, this palette does not fall short. It smells delightfully like real cocoa and imparts ultra-glitzy metallic shine.

The actual palette feels very luxurious — it’s almost worth it for the stunning packaging itself. Just kidding. Kind of…

Four matte shades make this a solid palette on its own. I wish “So Boujee” was a little deeper, but that’s a personal preference.

My favorite shades are Rich Girl, Drippin’ Diamonds, Classy & Sassy, and Chocolate Gold. I think the shade Livin’ Lavish is probably the worst shade in the palette – purples usually disappoint. I would have died if this purple actually performed like Drippin’ Diamonds, but unfortunately it lacks in luster. Still, it’s great as a deepening shade or a pop of purple.

I find this to be a very versatile as well as wearable palette – you truly can take this from coffee to cocktails!

From top to bottom, I swatched: Drippin’ Diamonds, New Money, Chocolate Gold, and Money Bags.

The swatches are slightly misleading because New Money and Money Bags are actually quite nice in a practical application. Clearly, though, the ultra-metallic neutral shades are just wildly pigmented.

The palette retails for $49 at several places.

You can actually purchase the Too Faced Sex, Gold And Chocolate Set for $49 at Nordstrom.com, which gives you a bonus of Shadow Insurance Primer and Better Than Sex Mascara!

If you don’t need the extras, you can purchase the palette on its own for $49 at Nordstrom.com
