Milk Makeup’s Friends & Family Sale 2018: What I Ordered

Milk Makeup is by far the coolest makeup brand out there. All of their products are meticulously curated to give the most minimalistic and editorial vibe. Their packaging is right in line with the product collection, as well! I have never tried anything from the brand, mostly because of the higher price point and unfamiliarity with the product performance, but I have always been so drawn to its aesthetic. I would describe it as Glossier, but punchy. That being said, their Friends and Family sale began yesterday (6/11) and is currently over. With the offer of 25% off purchases $35 or more PLUS free shipping, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to dig into the brand’s beauty portfolio. As an added bonus, I got some gifts with purchase that have me super excited!

Check out my First Impressions post for my initial thoughts on this order!

Flex Concealer in Light Medium (peachy undertones, $28.00 USD)

I’ve wanted to try this concealer for such a long time. My under-eyes are always puffy, dry, and prone to creasing, so finding a good concealer that doesn’t make me look 80 years older is a task. This seems to be exactly what I’m looking for! It is a bit expensive, but with 25% off, I don’t mind splurging a little. I hope the shade I chose isn’t too light for me!

Mini Highlighter (“Lit,” champagne pearl, $14.00 USD)

Cream highlights have been right up my alley during these warm months. I love how they give a dewy look to the skin that just looks natural! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this stick-form highlighter from Milk, and many reviews say the color is fantastic. What I love about Milk is the addition of good-for-your-skin ingredients and omission of animal by-products, harmful chemicals, and icky fillers. I purchased a mini size because I just know I’ll never get through a full-sized product!

Matcha Toner ($26.00 USD)

Every single thing about this product appeals to me. I’ve been trying to simplify my skincare routine and this toner looks like a one-two punch as far as clarifying and soothing go. Aside from all of the amazing skincare ingredients and claims, I am SO into the innovative stick form. This solves so many travel dilemmas, as well as time inefficiencies! I am excited to give this product a shot — if I like this, I’ll likely purchase the Matcha Stick Cleanser (yes, a stick CLEANSER!) as well.

Mini Cooling Water ($14.00 USD)

This is another really cool stick product. I have been looking for an alternative to my Becca Anti-Fatigue Undereye Primer, which I love, but can’t fathom repurchasing at $30 for a two-month supply. I love that you can apply this right onto your skin from the stick. Whether or not this will actually help de-puff and prep my skin for makeup will be exciting to see, and whether this will feel like a dream to apply will be equally exciting. I purchased the mini size to try, but the full size is a much better value.

BONUSES

If you purchase at least $75.00 USD of products, you will receive a three-piece mini set plus two deluxe samples.

The Triple Threat Eye set is actually worth $30 (I was going to purchase it!) and includes a mini Gel Brow in Pilsner, a mini Eye Pigment in Silent Disco (these look AMAZING), and a mini Ubame mascara in Inked.

You will also receive deluxe samples of the new KUSH mascara and Lip Color in Grrrl.

The Triple Threat Eye set is worth it alone, but I’ve been meaning to try the mascara out for a while. In fact, I had actually received a deluxe sample as my gift from Sephora before accidentally tossing the shipping box while it was still inside. Super sad.

I’m really stoked to try out these products from Milk! I can’t wait until my package arrives. I’ll post an update with my thoughts I’ve posted an update with my thoughts on whether or not these are gimmicks or butt-kicking performers when I have a chance to thoroughly test them.
