Makeup Inspiration: Purples and Pinks

I love wearing soft colors on my eyes. I think they make a really bold statement without being loud, difficult to create, or annoying to wear! Recently, pinks and purples have been taking residence on my eyelids. I have so many pretty pastel palettes that look great all over the lids for a  simple wash of color, but my favorite has to be the Nars Narsissist Danger Control eyeshadow palette. These are really cool pastel holographic shadows, some being amazing duochromes and some having galaxy-inspired glitter glows. Here’s a look I created using some of the shadows in the palette along with some others!

Products Used

NARS Narsissist Danger Control Eyeshadow Palette (Limited Edition, $49.00 USD) – “Tonic,” “Elektra,” + “Haedus”

Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette ($46.00 USD, read my review here) “Sweetheart,” “Rebel,” “Funny Girl,” + “Rocker” — mattes as crease/blending shades, metallics as pops of undereye shimmer

Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Kaleidoscope Dream eyeshadow palette (Limited Edition, read my review here) “Spitfire”

Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush in Luminoso (~$6USD – I’ve seen this at several different prices depending on the retailer)

BECCA Light Chasers Pressed Highlighter in “Champagne Dreams Flashes Bellini” (Limited Edition, no longer sold)

LORAC Alter Ego Lip Gloss in Goddess ($17.00 USD)

What do you think of these colors together? I think the soft pinks and purples, especially in a non-matte finish, give the face a really fresh look. NARS Danger Control is one of my most loved non-neutral palettes. In fact, it’s probably my favorite. The color selection is out of the box, yet so curated and sophisticated that I never feel clown-like when wearing them. I absolutely adore the formula for NARS’ eyeshadows- they have a wet texture that makes them fun to apply with fingers or a synthetic brush.
