Too Faced Peaches and Cream Collection Rave & Review

There’s nothing more beautiful than soft, smooth skin. Thank you, Too Faced, for taking inspiration from our favorite fruit and delivering a line of products that give us the softest peaches and cream inspired skin!

The products I’ll be talking about are the Peach Perfect Foundation and the Sex on the Peach value set.

I’ve been a fan of the Too Faced Peach Perfect comfort matte foundation for a LONG time. My skin is oily, but also textured and dry; this makes it so difficult to find a foundation that controls my natural dew but also smooths out rough patches.

Enter Peach Perfect. The first time I tried it out, I caught my reflection in the rearview mirror of my car and was floored. All of my redness, texture, and imperfections were blurred. I had literal flawless, smooth skin. At the end of the day, no less, my makeup had not budged or broken up at all. I have never in my life had a foundation last all day without breaking up, transferring, or getting shiny.

Foundation, Primer, and Setting Powder (skipped the Setting Spray for this look), plus BTS mascara

What I love about the ultra matte-looking finish is that it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. I wouldn’t even describe it as ultra-matte, but rather matte like peach skin. It has a satiny feel to it. While it dries down to a transfer-proof finish, the foundation does not cling to dry patches or get “stiff” like many other full-coverage matte products tend to do.

The scent is not irritating or cloying, even on my sensitive skin. I think it smells more like real peaches and cream than the artificial tutti-frutti peach ring scent of the Sweet Peach line. None of these products have broken me out or caused any adverse reaction, which is rare for me!

The only complaint I have about this foundation is the shade range. It’s kind of tricky to find a good match, and I have a very easy to match light-medium skin tone. I find that the range skips around a bit and the shade names are misleading. I use Warm Nude, but it can be a bit dark on me if I’m not tanned.

The best way to apply this foundation for a flawless finish is with a beauty sponge. I use my Beauty Blender, which works to give me a great base with just one pump of product. You can layer this product for fuller coverage and it doesn’t seem to cake or pick up strangely.

A less-talked about pro about this foundation is its value relative to other high-end products. You get 1.6 oz for $36USD, which is a great deal considering many foundations are standard 1oz containers for ~$40USD+. I love the cute packaging and convenient pump and soft tube.

Summary of Pros: smooth finish, long-lasting, oil-controlling, blurs imperfections, transfer-proof, comfortable matte wear, value, convenient packaging.

Recently, Too Faced released a value set with some full-sized and deluxe-sized products from the Peaches and Cream line. This retails for $45 USD. To break down the value, Sephora has this listed as an $85USD value. The full-sized products alone total at $55USD, $23USD for Better Than Sex and $32USD for the Setting Powder.  I was most interested in testing the Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder. I had seen so many influencers rave about it, and this set was released just as I was running dangerously low on my CoverFX Perfect Setting Powder.

The set includes a full-sized powder, full-sized Better Than Sex mascara, deluxe-sized Peach Mist Mattifying Setting Spray, and deluxe-sized Primed and Peachy cooling primer. The deluxe-sized products are actually quite generous — I would guess that they are close to half the size of full-sized products.

Another beautiful plus about this foundation, primer, powder, and setting spray combo: no smile lines or creasing.

The only products that I hadn’t tried in the set were the powder and the mascara, but knowing I loved every other product, I easily convinced myself to go for the big purchase. I purchased the set during the Sephora VIB Rouge Early Access sale, so I received an additional 15% off plus free 2-day shipping. Win win.

Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder

I’m in awe with how nice this powder is! The packaging is beautiful — it looks stunning just sitting on a shelf. The powder itself is very finely milled and airy, which makes it perfect for setting delicate areas like the undereye without patching up or clinging to texture. I was wary of the peach color of the powder, but it did not noticeably alter the color of my foundation or concealer.

To set the undereye area, I used a Beauty Blender and found that I didn’t need too much product to get a flawless, smooth finish. There is definitely some blurring and perfecting effect to the powder’s finish, and while it certainly mattifies, it does not look over-drying.

On the rest of the face, it amps up the matte finish of the foundation and really locks everything into place. It smells (and tastes!) delightful! I really enjoy this powder and will be using it in place of my CoverFX Perfect Setting Powder until I empty the tub.

Peach Mist Mattifying Setting Spray

Word of advice for using this spray: make sure you shake it well! If you don’t, you will get splatters of white all over your face. Once this spray dries, it doesn’t move, so be wary. That being said, it has a nice cooling effect and completely mattifies your face.

I think this, along with the powder, make the foundation truly unstoppable as far as wear time. If you have drier skin, I would probably pass on the setting spray in favor of something less matte. Not that it emphasizes dryness in any way, but I don’t think it’s necessary for those who don’t get oily. It may be a nice setting spray for a dewy foundation, so if you’re interested in trying the product, that may be a good pair.

I’ll probably use up this setting spray, but I likely won’t repurchase. My all-time favorite is Urban Decay All-Nighter — it’s mattifying, but not too matte.

You can still see *some* imperfections from a breakout on my forehead, but I didn’t spot conceal at all.

Primed and Peachy Primer

I’m honestly not a huge foundation primer person. I usually don’t notice too much of an effect, so I don’t think they’re worth shelling out the extra coin. A proper moisturizer should be plenty for a good foundation application. The only time I truly do find primers useful is when my skin is particularly troublesome or textured. That being said, I love how cooling this product feels on my skin! Especially in the morning, my skin can be puffy and irritated, so this is a welcomed treat to refresh my complexion before foundation application.

I definitely see a difference in how matte my skin looks after applying the product. It doesn’t have a silicone feel to it, but rather a silky smooth one. I don’t notice a significant difference in how long the foundation lasts when using the primer, but I enjoy the cooling and smoothing feeling enough to continue using it.

Better Than Sex Mascara

Who hasn’t heard about this cult-favorite mascara? I have never tried it, but have heard it was very comparable (dupable) to the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara. Seeing that I absolutely love the drugstore tube, I had high expectations for Better Than Sex. The one thing I did notice immediately is how much more luxurious the Better Than Sex packaging looked and felt in my hand; it’s weightier and higher quality. The brush is also quite large, which I find a little troublesome for my eye shape.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara – Noticeably more lift and curl to the lashes

Compared to Lash Paradise, this mascara is slightly more wet, so it does not hold a curl as beautifully. You certainly get high-drama and volume with Better Than Sex, but I don’t see myself trading in Lash Paradise for it any time soon.

I love the Peaches & Cream line! The one product I’d absolutely love to see is a concealer. I think something ultra creamy and smoothing would do so well with the rest of the complexion line. I’ve yet to try any of the color products, but I’ve only heard negative reviews on the blushes and bronzers. The eyeshadow palette is supposedly really nice, but I have so many warm-toned mattes that I don’t see myself getting much use out of it.

Have you tried anything from this line? Or do you have products that you think are better? Let me know below! I always love trying new makeup and beauty products!
