Wearable Peachy Glow Festival Makeup Look

‘Chella season is upon us. Whilst scrolling through impossibly perfect pictures of celebs at the festival, I’ve noticed the beauty trends are quite polarized this year. Some went FULL GLAM festival crazy, but more than a few went with a natural desert glow. I wanted to try the latter, so here’s a super wearable look that’ll take you from pool party to weekend festival.

All products mentioned will be linked at the end of the post.

SKIN PREP FOR A GLOWY COMPLEXION

Let’s talk about how important it is to PREP YOUR SKIN if you’re going for a glowy, skin-centric look. On top of being diligent with maintaining healthy skin, there are so many steps you can take to achieve a flawless (-looking) complexion. I always start by making sure my face is hydrated.

The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is perfect for soothing my sensitive, dry, eczema-prone skin– it sinks into my skin FAST and doesn’t leave a greasy finish. I find it to work well with all of my foundations, too.

My undereye area is also very dry and prone to creasing, so I’ve been using the BECCA Anti-Fatigue Undereye Primer to help get a smooth finish.

GLOWY FOUNDATION HACK

If you have an illuminating moisturizer or a similar product, now is the time to break it out for the ultimate glow.

I like mixing my MAC Strobe Cream in Pinklite in equal parts with my Maybelline Super Stay Full-Coverage foundation to give my skin a soft-focus pearl-like finish. Use minimal powder to set the base.

Experiment with moisturizer-foundation cocktails to find something that works with your skin!

HIGHLIGHT ALL OVER

I’ve been loving how powder highlights look faded into blush toppers – it gives a really nice full-cheeked effect. I applied a small amount of bronzer for some color, but focused on cheek color for this look.

The Smashbox Photostrip Highlighting Palette is SO underrated — you get three gorgeous highlight shades and two blush toppers that are absolutely stunning. I first applied the highlight shade in Turn it Up Pearl all over the high points of my face, concentrating it on my cheekbones. I then applied the blush topper in shade Peachy Sheen all over my cheeks, working it up into the highlight.

Powder products work well here because they melt into the base without adding extra moisture, so your cheek colors won’t be sliding around as you get sweaty in the summer heat!

SUBTLE DUOCHROMATIC GLITTER EYES

Keep the eyes simple. Touching up eyeliner or complex eyeshadow looks is impossible when you’re busy out and about!

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer is perfect for easy, sweat-proof brows. I then applied some of the matte orange shades from Modern Renaissance to add subtle dimension and a base for the glitter.

I love how subtle, yet fun, the glitter looks above the crease rather than on the lid. The Urban Decay Moondust shadows are gorgeous, easy to use, long-lasting, and duochromatic in the light. They will look stunning as the sun hits your eyes! I used Specter and Element for a peachy-pink shift. I also applied some to my inner corner.

I’m not one for lashes to begin with, but I tossed on some of my favorite black waterproof mascara to finish off this easy eye look.

THE FINISHING TOUCHES

To complete the look, I put on Too Faced’s Melted Metallic liquid lipstick in the gorgeous pinky peach shade Debutante. For a creamy liquid lipstick, it’s surprisingly long-wearing and comfortable on the lips.

Possibly the most important step, however, is to SET the look. You’ll want a setting spray that doesn’t add any glow and helps to really lock the look in place. My absolute favorite is the Urban Decay All-Nighter spray. It doesn’t alter the finish of your makeup, but it really does just make it melt onto your face in the most satisfying way.

What do you think of this look? I think it’s perfect for any outdoor festivity, whether it be Coachella or a backyard barbecue. I’ll be playing around with different color schemes for more ‘out there’ looks, but I’ll definitely be reaching for the peach look all summer long.
